My Creative Time Design Team Call!

I was so excited earlier in the week to go on My Creative Time and to see that Miss Emma was doing a call for design team members for her blog. I look at all of the wonderful ideas and stamps that Emma has on her page everyday. I have not tried for a design team before and thought that this was the perfect one to try for. Who wouldn't want to be on Emma's design team!

Here is my submission card. Hope you all like it.

I have been wanting to make my Christmas cards to send out to friends and family for the past couple of years. Of course something always came up and I never got them done. This year I decided to start really early so that I would get them done. I am not sure if I want to do the same card for everyone one or different cards depending on who I am sending it to. That is still yet to be decided.

Now let me tell you how I made this card. The base of the card is 6 1/2 by 9 1/2 and the card stock is by Core'dinations core essentials in Aegean. I selected this color because I wanted to do something a little different and not your basic red and green. I then scored the card at 4 3/4 inches. After scoring the card I cut 3/4 of an inch off the front for my trim.

All of the print papers that used on this card are from Echo Park's Holly Jolly Christmas Pad. I saw these when I was looking for paper for my Christmas cards online and just fell in love with this one!
I used my Cricut to cut the border on this card. The border is from the Cricut Essentials Cartridge and I cut it at the size of 1 inch. I also used this same cartridge for the shape that I stamped my image onto. The shape was cut at 3 1/4 inches.

The stamp that I used is from the Beary Merry Christmas set from Pink By Design. I just fell in love with this stamp set when I saw it! I stamped the image using Memento ink in Tuxedo Black and then colored the image in with my copic markers. Once the image dried I used Tim Holtz's distressed ink in tumbled glass to distress the edges. I then spritzed the whole image with Perfect Pearls Mist in Perfect Pearl to give it a snowy frosted shimmer. To add a little more sparkle I added some snow flakes that I had in my stash.

On the inside of the card I cut a piece of the snowflake paper. The paper was cut to 3 1/2 by 6 inches. I then added a 2 1/4 by 3 inch piece of Bazzill card stock in Berry Sensation. I then stamped the sentiment on the berry card stock. Then I added some more snowflakes to complete the card.

I hope you all love the card as much as I do. Please let me know what you think.
