Monogram Sign

I had a wall in my home just over my couch that I could not figure out what to do with. I had seen some really great monogram signs around all the wonderful blog world and I decided to make one of my own. Here is how it turned out! Hope you all like it!

I was able to get the monogram from a wonderful seller on

I started out with a piece of plywood 4feet long by 2 feet wide. I primed the plywood and then painted it a wonderful green that I am using as my accent color in my living room.

I then purchased some trim to go around the whole piece of plywood. I primed and then painted the trim white.

Once everything was dry my husband tried to attach the trim to the plywood with a staple gun. That did not really work out due to the fact that trim wanted to lift away from the board. I guess that is the lesson of trail and error.

So my husband and I decided to use wood glue to put the trim on the plywood. Then I used my heavy math textbooks to weigh down the trim so it would stay.

After all of the trim was added to the plywood I added the monogram to the plywood.
Then I put a clear coat over the monogram to seal it.
Here it is finished.

My husband was finally able to hang the sign in our house. I was so excited to finally get the sign hung.

I really love how it turned out!

Please let me know what you all think.
Have a great week!
